The Giver Prediction

Authors Note: I wrote this piece to predict the second book in the giver series to demonstrate my understanding of predicting.

In the book Gathering Blue, I predict that Jonas and Gabe will try and start a new life with the people he saw in the house and try and forget his past. The reason I think this is because at the end of The Giver Jonas stood at the top of the hill and told Gabe that this was one of his memories, not one the memories the old giver had gave him. I can support this idea with a piece of evidence from the movie Abduction. At the end of this movie, Nathan goes and tries to start a new life living with his “shrink” and tries to forget the whole baseball ordeal. 

Character Development

•   First Jonas gets selected to e the new giver and plays his role in the community
•  The catalyst is when Jonas watches the release.  Some direct quotes are “My father killed it! He killed it!” and “I don’t want to go home”
• Jonas changes the lives of others by leaving the community and forcing the people to face what life was like before the sameness happened and what it was like with colors and other things
• Jonas changes himself from a boy who wanted to obey his community and full fill his duties to help, to a boy who wanted nothing more than to escape his community  in which he felt hatred
• Jonas is like Katniss Everdeen because they both have to help the people of their community and are both just kids who have to go against all odds

The Beast Prediction

My prediction is that just before the beast attacks him, Chance will jump in front of him. They will battle it out while Stevan runs back to his house and grabs his baseball bat. He will then run back and come behind the beast, hitting him over the head. Him and the dog will make it out alive, but Chance will be badly injured. I think this is going to happen because in I am Number Four, Bernie Kosar (the dog) fights the animal that is trying to kill Four. Bernie Kosar wins the battle but he was badly hurt.
